"Leadership is not about Ability, It's about Responsibility"

Mr. Ing instructed leadership to make a blog about this quote "Leadership is not about Ability, It's about Responsibility".  Instead of doing a weekly blog, this will replace the blog because it reflects on this week.
Since I'm in seventh grade I learned something important, now I know what not to do.  This is the first time I saw Mr. Ing angry and irritated like this.  Mr. Ing said that he was angry and upset, he said he was emotional the other night.  He made some decisions, and he said "NEVER MAKE DECISIONS WHEN YOU ARE EMOTIONAL".  You wanna know why?  It may not be the right decision.

So here is the story of The Core: "There was a Co-Captain and a Captain.  The Co-Captain can do everything but she cannot make decisions.   The Captain told the Co-Captain to start making some decision.  Days later, the Captain dies and the Co-Captain has to make a descion. The descion was to close the door and someone will die OR open the door and keep someone (one person) safe.  Guess what the Co-Captain decided to do?  She closed the door and let someone die but kept mostly everyone safe."  I never ever watched this movie.  I want to watch it and see what the Co-Captain wasn't making the descion about.  It's pretty much the Co-Captain learned an important lesson and stuck up for others.

What does this quote mean? "Leadership is not about Ability, It's about Responsibility".  What does it mean? *thinking voice*.... hmmm.  Well what it means leadership doesn't mean being able to do, it's actually about responsibility. Ability isn't enough to become a good leader, it's about standing up for yourself and being responsible no matter what descion you make.  A leader will make good decisions and be responsible for that descion.  The definition of ability is you can do.  Yes, leadership needs ability but responsibility is more beyond and more important.  So let's put it this way, you have the ability to have responsibility.  That's what leadership is about.  

I've been in leadership for a little while now.  I felt like I experienced a lot but actually I didn't experience any big mistakes.  It's not hard for me to understand because now I realized, I made some mistakes about being a leader.  Like I remember in JPO.  I was the captain, I was responsible for my squad.  I made a huge mistake and my advisor got really upset.  I don't remember what the problem was but I remember her saying "You are a good captain, you can do what I say.  But sometimes people aren't responsible.  Remember be responsible for yourself and make sure you do good so you do good for others".  I can't believe I remember what she said.  My JPO advisor is my best friend, she gives me the best advice ever.  Her name is Mrs. Gettle ;3 she's a good lady.  But back to the subject, LEADERSHIP IS NOT ABOUT ABILITY, IT'S ABOUT RESPONSIBILITY.
