Hey there ツ I haven't been on for a while but I'm back *pimp pose*. Well, I had a great fourth of July yesterday :D LOL. But anyways, in leadership I had a fresh, new start :) (I don't know if that makes sense but yeaaah lolol). Alrighty, let's get started :3 So the first week of leadership was a pretty rough start (In my opinion, I don't think others observed thought it was a rough start... But if you just look closely, it kinda was). It was a really interesting week, first of all when I first found out the constructed periods I first told myself "this is going to be an exciting year :p". LOL me and Korey got put together in Period 6! I was so excited lol. And the other periods.. well forget them... lol. We only had 3 workdays this week because of Fourth of July which was a holiday and it doesn't really make sense to go back to school after a holiday sooo yeaah.
But let's talk about day 1. So on Monday, it was a clean up day *yay*. The first thing I observed was the lack of being a self directed learner... I was kinda lacking it too.. But yeahh. When we were cleaning up A102 I realized that people were just standing there waiting for a command... and I was too so I shouldn't be talking lol. But yeah people standing there like statues while there's a BIG PILE of mess in front of them. I was kinda moving around yeanoo, just moving about my ways XD LOOL. I think we could of got through this more quicker but we didn't.. But at least we got the job done "hooray". Oh let's reverse back to the beginning of Monday, it was switching the old fabric with the new fabric. I thought it was messy, yes I think when me and Korey were putting borders it wasn't really quality. And when we were cutting fabric we cut it the wrong way which made it harder and more difficult for us to put it back up. I don't think we were being quality producers or self directed learners. I was getting pretty stressed when I put the fabric up wrong XD Oh gosh, I was pretty stressed lol. After all the cleaning/stress we had a discussion and we had our first assignment! It was to think of a yearbook theme.
Anyways, let's move to day 2. On Tuesday, we did more cleaning? no it was kinda moving things around. We had to move two desks to A101 which was pretty hard lol. but that's kinda what i remembered. Oh yah, I also remembered that Period 6 had to go to the dumpster so we took the cart and it was pretty fun. That was our first period 6 happy moment... not awkward moment... happy moment lol. Oh yeah, we also had to take sample pictures for the fall pictures (that didn't really make sense, but oh wells lol). I think I didn't really look good lolol.. I looked horrible, me and my jack o lantern teeth didn't really work out XD Oh yeah we also discussed about the yearbook themes. Mines was "Pieces of the Puzzle" but it got eliminated... I see how it is.. Kevin got his from the internet tsk tsk tsk lol. Oh yeah, I remembered that Mr. Ing told us to vote on the poll and not everyone in the leadership voted... tsk tsk tsk againnn. lol. We were also assigned to make a cubby cover, directions were to be big, take up the entire paper, and with quality (Keep that in mind).
Day 3- On Wednesday (our last day of the work week woohoo), it was... uhh.... wednesday? LOL. But when I got to school I saw some people making cubby covers... and two of them were group leaders.... Yes... group leaders.... I just don't understand!!! LOL. Anyways, when they put their cubby covers up I think they lacked quality... I think people coulda gone more creative and you can tell who did theirs last minute (shakes head). But all periods were assigned to do jobs. Period 6 got TV which was basically teaching the newbies how to do/ produce TV. Then period 2 got banners and period 4 got music. TV went well and we went through everything and everybody and did pretty good. When we practiced, they needed to improve more but it's only their first time :/ so just givem a break. Then after TV we went back to A101 and then I walked into A102 just to observe and check on how they were doing. Period 4 had a little mishap in the beginning but Roxi went straight to Mr. Ing for help and they got their problem fixed and got their responsibilities DONE. PRONTO. But then, on the other hand... Period 4 had some problems with music. I've observed that Mr. Ing wasn't really giving as much instructions and wasn't being really specific. I wonder if he was testing us again... hmmm... I'm wondering still lol. But anyways, after 30 minutes I still didn't hear music. I asked them to ask Mr. Ing for help but then they just pretty much ignored me and "tried" to figure out the problem. Then after doing pretty much nothing or about 1 or 2 hours later, they finally asked Mr. Ing for help (I don't even know if they even asked him). Then they played music for about... Not even 10 minutes. So they wasted pretty much a lot of time just because of not being a complex thinker or self directed learner. That's what i observed. Anyways, after all this ruckus and everyone left me, Korey, and Mr. Ing pretty much discussed about what happened and he observed the same thing I observed.
Sorry guys I didn't even go through everything, this is such a long blog/novel lol. So please cope with me
The highlight of my week was observing and meeting the new leadership group. I still can't imagine how we will go throughout the year, even though we had a a bumpy start, we still can fix it. But yeah that's my highlight of the week. I also met knew people and the second generation of leadership voyagers. They still act the same as last years voyagers. In the beginning they are really quiet and shy but if you keep thinking about it they will start to be voyagers.
What I learned this week was that we were not all self directed learners, complex thinkers, quality producers, and effective communicators. Let's go back to the music incident. If you compare the mishap of period 2 they went straight to Mr. Ing for help and they solved their problem and they finished the banner!!! On the otherhand, period 4 wasn't really "thinking". When me, Korey, and Mr. Ing was discussing, Mr. Ing mentioned about the group... if they group leaders don't know what their doing then they would think that they don't know what they are doing! Which makes them empty handed and they don't know what to do as well. I also think that the group leaders including me and korey were lacking the responsibility. I knew I was lacking responsibility. So hopefully next week goes a little smoother :) And hopefully everybody does there blogs on time!!!!! Alrighty bye bloggers! Hope you enjoy the novel :) (I had a lot to say)
