Dress-Outs:
Sports Day- Sports day was on Monday and I gotta say that it started off this spirit week pretty well.
Inside Out Day- I honestly, don't know why everyone didn't dress out because this was a VERY EASY ticket for all the students to dressout. You don't have to buy anything or wear anything other than your regular daily basis school uniform.
Hawaii Day- I really enjoyed this day because I saw some pretty interesting outfits... Especially Mr. Weida's lol.
Military Day- It was really nice seeing some people getting into the military spirit and show pride towards the military which is great. Once again, I really enjoyed Mr. Weida's outfit XD Wonderful camouflage work there.
Team Color Day- All the teams dressed out and that's great! 7-2 actually had a decent amount of dressouts that day compared to the regular days. Nice work.
A day that I would take out is Sports Day, some people aren't really athletic… and we can't blame them for not being athletic. I'd honestly replace sports day with pajama day bc pajama day is the bomb dot com!
Overall, it was fun seeing everyone dress out and work hard to dress out for their teams. I really enjoyed some of the originality of the dress outs.
Penny Wars:
Okay first of all, penny wars was INTENSE. I praise the teams for working hard and spending their valuable money for the children hospital in Ewa (both of my sisters work there lol). On Thursday was when the competiton was staggering such as people bringing in ALL their pennies and silver change, people THROWING $20.00 bills in 8-3's container and here comes Mr. Shim throwing $100.00 bills at EVERYONE'S CONTAINER. I think a person from Team 4 threw in a $100.00 bill back at us. I just want to say, WHY IS SOMEBODY CARRYING A $100 to school? lol. But Mr. Shim be ballin lol. I enjoyed penny wars, everything was just so tense and I'm happy to say that we made a lot of money and our funds will be for a good cause. Oh yeah and the winners for penny wars was team 7-3? or 7-1... I honestly forgot lol.
Chain Links:
Chain links, generally made alot of money! I honestly wanted to see team 8-3's chain link after the chain links were finished because WE BOUGHT ALOT OF CHAIN LINKS AND so did 8-2. But yeah, I didn't really care for chain links but though it made a lot money.
Mini Activities:
The mini activities, well I didn't really get to observe all of the mini activities but I think all the teams did great! I am happy to say that I was the person monitoring the science activity and that one was enjoying. Just watching the students build a paper airplane and flying it was entertaining to me.
Cheer-Off:
I enjoyed the cheer-off! It was nice that we got to sing the school alma mater to the people that composed it, it was nice. Also, Im surprised that one of the people that composed it was Mr. Young's... teacher :o. WOW. LOL. I think we all did a good job and I liked all the teams... cheers... Well I think the 7th graders could improve more on their cheers. I honestly that 8-1 was going to win due to their amazing choreography (mrs. akimoto was very adorable looking lol) but surprisingly 8-3 won. I didn't know our cheer at all but I just winged it (it was very easy). Oh yeah, I also loved Team 4's cheer, i really liked it.
Relay Races:
The relay races was very entertaining! The 7th grade one was enjoying because the little bicycles... the small tiny girl (7-2) picked up her team's slack and zooming through the finish line lol. SHE WAS FAST and she is very tiny. The 8th grade one was very enjoying it was nice to see the teams in spirit! GOOO ILIMA.
Canned Goods:
I thought 8-2 was going to win for canned goods due to the amount of canned goods they had.. until Mr. Shim came with.. A billion (that was a hyperbole, calm down). He must be very rich, I wonder how is finances are right now lol. But great job with the canned goods!
Oh yeah, if you were wondering, 8-3 WON. Honestly, I don't know why people from other teams were making a big deal out of it... they would have the same behaviour if they one too. I'm happy that we won because we got to make Mrs. Hudson leave happy :-).
The highlight of this week was just the spirit overall. I enjoyed all the spirit that was put in to this event and it was very entertaining. Everyone had a great time and everyone was happy, so I want to ask this Chloe girl a question.. IS SPIRIT WEEK FUN NOW? But yeah, I enjoyed the spirit. Also, the rate that we went when counting the coins, it was very good. The lowlight of the week was when people removed their dress out items and didn't follow directions… that just leads to problems and that represents no care what so ever.
Also, an activity that we should add is like a PSA video.. omg that'd be great! Like a public service announcement, we're doing it for a good cause and it'd be a great way to be creative and have fun but through a positive way. LOL. IDRK.
The things that we should do differently is the relay races, like Mr. Ing should've bought like helmets and pads for when they had to ride the bike, that'd be really fun. yep, I do agree with him
The lesson learned this week is that when we are ready and everyone does their job, everything will go smoothly. Last year's spirit week didn't have a good person in charge, well she lacked the qualities of being a leader. I'm satisfied with Korey being in charge of spirit week because if I were in charge... we would run into some problemos.. but I still think that I can still be in charge (trying not to understimate myself). Also, never go on tv and practice before 5 minutes before the broadcast and do funny things because that was embarrasing. Everyone saw me and korey on tv doing our weird thang, even a girl recorded it and posted it on instagram! WOWZAH. But yeah, lol. LESSON LEARNED.
OKAY BYE GUSY! I really enjoyed this spirit week and the effort put into it, great job ppl! (i also liked our pink panther shirts lol)
