The Circle of Ilima :p (Orientation Blog)
Hey bloggers, well first of all I would like to apologize to you about the late blog... yup this blog is 8 hours late lol. But anyway, let's get started on how orientation went. Orientation went good! Unfortunately not great... but at least we did good ^_^. But practice makes perfect right? yup. All of us gave up our lunches to practice for orientation for the past 2-3 weeks. But at least the technique of practicing is better than last years technique. Orientation, had 3 performances and out of all the three performances, the first one was the best in my own honest opinion. Let me just summarize everything up to you on why I think its the best.
First Performance-
Speaking/Banners: The speaking overall out of 10 is between a 8 and 9 so lets just say 8.5. The reason why it's a 10 is that some people stumbled on their words or were not really fluent. Yep, that's why I scored it an 8.5 and I feel that I made a mistake on that.
Tour: The tour took 5ever.. So here's the story, the Lei Ilima People just added themselves to the tour and they made the girls take a survey, it's good that they are trying to do that but we have a timed schedule here and if we don't make it... that's not going to be good. But otherwise, my tour went by SLOWLY because everyone in front of me wasn't moving up or they were taking forever and not giving my group space to go. But yeah, I think the tour went good and bad for other people. I'm happy that my group of kids didn't ask any questions but irrelevant ones.
Performance: I'm not sure about the performance but I thought it went well. It was more enthusiastic for me and I felt like they weren't BORED. Unlike the other performances. So if those people weren't acting like they were bored I won't act like I was bored. But the performance went well other than the breaking the dress code people didn't really show WHAT dress code they were breaking but other than that, we did awesome.
Second Performance-
Speaking/Banners: We did SOOOO much better on our speaking parts and the banners. I give a thumbs up to all of you for doing a great job.
Tour: The tour went faster than the other day's tour so that's great! Even though I didn't really give a tour and just waited for the tour to be finished, it went pretty fast. Like a 5 minute tour, good job everyone.
Performance: The performance went well for all of us but I made a few mistakes on our choreo but it's alright I didn't really show that I did. But that performance felt like they weren't even watching, LIKE OUR PRESENCE OF 'DANCING' WAS LAME. It felt lame, the audience was lame. COUGARS AND THE EAGLES ARE LAME. SHAME ON YOU LAME SCHOOLS. LOL.
Third Performance-
Speaking/Banners: I think it went well, we didn't make any mistakes
Tour: No tour included (hallelujah)
Performance: Lame once again but no mistakes made.
I didn't have fun presenting to the other schools/people, I only had fun during the first performance but yeah I basically judged the performances on how i felt so yah lol..
The highlight of orientation was the number of mistakes. In our orientation, mistakes wasn't even a problem, we didn't even HAVE Problems. Which is greaaatttt! That's my highlight, we made no mistakes/problems and I'm happy that we did. That practicing and giving up my lunch was SOOO worth it. The low light of orientation was the lame crowds, they killed my vibe. Sucks to be them because they don't know HOW HARD WE PRACTICED BEFORE ORIENTATION. IT'S A DRAG. It doesn't seem like they don't want to be there but you know what? I don't really care because why should I care about what they think? If they weren't paying attention, that's their fault. They don't know the time and effort that we put into this, IM TIRED. IM VERY TIRED. But I am so proud of all of us for making this orientation good and not making problems, I give us all props for that.
The lesson learned this week is that practice actually made perfect. I didn't believe in that saying because that quote never ever worked for me. But I actually realized that when I practice, I don't put my full time, effort, and passion into my practicing so I'm just stuck in a hole not getting better in what I'm trying to get better on. But yeah, after orientation it made me realize after all these years. I joined so many classes (piano, acting, singing_ and I claim I practice but you know I didn't put my full effort which made me got nowhere and quit. Yeah I over think a lot and it's just me. I'm an over thinker that tries to hide their feelings and lives their everyday life like their supposed to. But after orientation, I'm going to try live by that quote...
Well that's not all for today bloggers because I have to do my weekly blogs, adios for now amigos. (sorry for the novel, idrc... sorry not sorry haha)
