Some random picture I took during this month, ahha
Hello, again! It's the end of another month, meaning another blog. However, what is special about this blog is that it commences the blog of the new year. Yes! It's finally 2018 now--the year in which I graduate, commence a new portion of my life, and the year where change is great. This month hasn't been so bad, but a lot has happened... and not exactly bad things.

First off let's get the most repeated concepts out of the way: college stuff. Remember how I mentioned that one of my college applications got deferred? Well, opportunities come along and I had a chance to salvage my deference and hopefully transform it into an admissions decision. How so? Welllll, I had to undergo a college interview. It was pretty scary at first, but the interviewer was down-to-earth and easygoing, so it wasn't so bad. Leadership interviews got me PREPARED FOR THIS and any type of formal or public presentation I have ever encountered.

Second, my job! Apparently, I got promoted to a shift-leader, which is AWESOME. I didn't really epeect that nor did I really shoot for that position, but somehow I did. This promotion is a really a confident booster because I can finally apply my leadership skills at work or even more so someone actually recognizes the potential I have and the hard work that I put in a minimum-wage, payin job. But, what even surprised me is that I only work two days a week, which is once again, pretty cool.

Speaking recognizing my hard work, I am now being recognized by school administration, but not in a negative connotation, but positively. How did that happen? So one day I was at this School Community Council Meeting (I'm a student representative, I suppose) and the VP was presenting his stance on the business academy and asking for input on any improvements. And of course I had to say that the business classes suck and have no beneficial curriculum to it, right in front of his face. But, then, two weeks later, he calls my parents and asks that I join him to talk on this T.V. show with him to discuss the improvements that he plans to make in James Campbell High School and was baffled by my honesty. I then attended this meeting for school improvement and whatnot and put in my honest student input, which is pretty cool--first time in forever, I feel beneficial to world. But in all, once again, without leadership, I wouldn't have the courage to be honest and blunt about issues that need to be addressed, giving me the opportunities that are totally uncalled for.

In all, this month has been pretty eventful, a lot more happened honestly, but those were just the highlights. But as a commanality in my content, everything that I've done has connected back to the Leadership class. After reflecting everything I've done, I've told myself that I wouldn't have been able to do anything so efficiently without the experiences I had in this class. To be truthfully honest, I've been very distant with Mr. Ing and the leadership program for a while, as life always gets in the way. Honestly, I'm lowkey jealous at the bonding times that I see the others do with Mr. Ing. But, man, it's so nice to see that he's doing well now and that he looks content with everything that is going on. Like in terms of his health, the relationships he has built in this class? You'd never expect that??? At first, it was just Shayna as the individual he'd always do stuff with, but now its a great handful, and I don't want to say that it is a competition, but at this point it kinda is. But, hopefully I'll find the time to check up on you guys once in awhile, I'm just so busy with everything else, that it's kinda overwhelming. But in all, it's just so great to see that the Leadership program is growing immensely in terms of relationships and inside jokes, haha. But, this program has done so much for me, and hopefully the current people in this class can say that after they leave, because trust me, you will find yourself thinking about what you have become with the help and guidance of leadership and Mr. Ing. So, happy new year! Hopefully this year will be a great one, and for once, I am pretty optimistic about it, teehee..!
